Elite Brush: Worth The Money or Highly Overrated?

For the last couple of weeks we’ve been spotting a new trend in beauty land. The internet has literally been going wild over this new product that is supposedly meant to save all of us ladies a lot of time during our beauty rituals. Say goodbye to regular boring flat irons and say hello to this revolutionary piece of tech: The Elite Brush.

So, does this thing really work its magic? Or is it just another Tell Sell kind of disappointment? You all answered YES wholeheartedly when I asked you whether I should do a review on this brush or not. So without further ado, here is my opinion on the Elite Brush..

First things first: The packaging looks pretty fancy. The brush comes in an all black packaging and consists of a box and a sleeve. Just slide out the inner box and (whoop) there it is. Wrapped in bubble wrap, the brush is ensured to arrive safely at every destination. Inside you will also find a manual on how to use the brush.

As for the color, the brush that I received to test is black with gold detailed finishing. When I looked it up on the internet I discovered that it actually comes in three colors: black, white and pink. You know, to match the mood you’re in.

Anyway. Easy does it. Luckily there are only three buttons required to manage the settings:

❥ Use the plus and minus buttons to adjust the temperature (the temperature will appear on the LED display)
❥ Quickly press on the ‘on and off button’ to turn the device on or off OR firmly press for a few seconds to lock the selected temperature

Since the Elite Brush warms up to 230 degrees celsius, these red rubber dots were placed on top of the brush’ pins to prevent any damage to your scalp.

So, here’s a quick ‘how to’:

❥ Make sure that your hair is dry
❥ For the love of your hair, use a heat protectant spray, serum or oil
❥ If you have curls like me: Detangle your hair first with another brush
❥ Divide your hair into sections
❥ Turn on the brush
❥ Select a temperature between 80 and 230 degrees celsius (for thick hair such as mine it’s recommended to select 230)
❥ Lock the temperature
❥ Start brushing!

Some tips you need to know about (talking from experience):

LOCK the temperature! If you don’t, you might notice after a while that the temperature keeps adjusting. It’s not cute and you will not achieve the results you want to.
❥ Start off putting the brush under your hair while using it. This way all of the hair catches the same amount of heat. For me it didn’t work when brushing on top of my hair.
❥ As I mentioned before: Use a moisturizing product before starting. Otherwise it will end up looking pretty dry (as you will see in my following pictures).

So here are my results:

In my opinion it actually came out pretty good, considering the fact that I forgot to use any products on my hair before straightening it. What do you think?

Overall I’m quite stoked on the outcome! It took me about twenty something minutes to go from curly to straight hair. For the first time ever I managed to straighten my own hair without getting sore arms. Normally it would take me more than an hour to complete this whole look. This thing right here, it’s a keeper!

Purchase your own Elite Brush by clicking here. Costs are 69,95.
